Expedition Chair: Howard Stotland
"Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had! I enjoyed every part of it, from meeting great people, training together, and living this 12-day adventure on the mountain. If I could do it, anyone can."

Hope & Cope Board Member Howard Stotland is an experienced climber who thrives on adventure. He also has a special connection to Hope & Cope – he grew up in the home that houses the Wellness Centre, and he is so pleased that his childhood home now does so much good for so many people.

In addition to recruiting trip participants, Howard will obtain corporate sponsorships and help climbers reach their fundraising goals. Click here for more information about sponsorship opportunities.

A retired entrepreneur who co-founded and built a highly successful multinational retail software company, Howard is a well-respected community leader and generous philanthropist whose easy-going manner, ability to motivate everyone around him and wonderful sense of humour make him the perfect person to chair this important fundraiser.

Expedition Leader: Terry Soucy
"I've led 5 expeditions and am happy to say that we've had great success getting everybody to the top of the mountain. But the real adventure starts with the training, where we bond as a group and then live this magical journey together - all for a great cause!"

Through his involvement in adventure fundraising, Terry has participated in projects that raised close to $2 million for charitable organizations such as the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation, Make-a-wish Foundation and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

This will be Terry’s 6th time climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and he is thrilled to be re-united with Howard Stotland and to be leading this expedition on behalf of Hope & Cope.

From the moment you sign up, Terry will be your go-to guy! He will gladly answer all your questions, help you with equipment purchases, explain how to interact with the guides and porters who will support you throughout the climb, and provide you with an adapted individual and group training program with emphasis on high altitude training techniques. By the time you leave Montreal for Africa next March, you will be very well prepared for this journey of a lifetime!
